Collegiate 4-H has recently published their new website: http://www.collegiate4h.org
Collegiate 4-H offers college students an experience after high school, of volunteering with 4-H youth, serving their communities and growing as a young 4-H volunteer leader. Collegiate 4-H is a nationwide program that can be implemented at any college campus. Our website helps in providing resources in starting or finding a Collegiate 4-H club at any school (in any state!) and providing ideas for providing leadership to county, local, and state 4-H programs.

Youth Development
Youth development is defined as the ongoing process in which
all young people are engaged to build competencies necessary
for successful adolescent and adult life. It is a way to think
about youth that focuses on their capacities, strengths, and
developmental needs and not on their weaknesses and problems.
All young people have basic needs that are critical to survival
and healthy development. At the same time, to succeed as adults,
all youth must acquire positive attitudes and appropriate behaviors
and skills.
Mission
UW - Extension 4-H Youth Development integrates research, education,
and community-based partnerships, enabling youth to learn and
practice skills to be productive citizens. UWEX staff design
educational, leadership and citizenship experiences for youth.
These programs are delivered through adult volunteers and by
collaborating with other local organizations.
4-H Opportunities
4-H is a wonderful opportunity for youth and adults to work
together. Volunteers are essential partners in creating a positive
environment by providing positive ways for youth to meet their
basic needs and develop life skills. To that end, UWEX staff
work with adult leaders to develop and strengthen their skills
in working with youth, planning and organizing, group leadership,
decision making, project support, communication skills, conflict
management and life skills development.
