CNRED PROGRAM AREA TOPICS

MAIN STREET PROGRAM INFORMATION

As the CNRED Agent for the Oneida County University of Wisconsin-Extension, I welcome the opportunity to bring all of the resources of the University of Wisconsin system to the residents of Oneida County. CNRED is an acronym for Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development. Some types of projects that the Oneida County CNRED Agent has recently provided assistance on are:

  • Assisted property owners on several area lakes to form legally organized, not-fo r-profit Lake associations. This not-for-profit status makes these lake associations eligible for state grants to study and mitigate shoreline erosion, invasive aquatic species and other issues associated with freshwater lakes.
  • Provided one-on-one counseling to individuals who requested information on starting their own businesses.
  • Facilitated a group of industrial railroad users to proactively formulate plans to deal with reductions in rail services.
  • Provided information to a local school district regarding the creation of a community education program designed to meet additional needs of school district taxpayers.
  • Facilitated and advised several groups interested in area tourism to combine resources and energies to promote Oneida County as a tourist destination.
  • Provided assistance to a group of downtown businesses to for a Business Investment District.

If you have a need in an area associated with Community, Natural Resources or Economic Development, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
