PARENTING

"A BETTER BEGINNING"

Separation and divorce are critical and significant times in the life of a family and can shake the foundations of a family. The effects of separation and divorce reach into all areas of individual, family, work and community life.

"A Better Beginning" gives parents and children the support and skills to use in their individual situation - which helps them to create a better future for their family.

NEXT STEP 4 STEPFAMILIES

Stepfamilies are not new. In fact, research shows that the number of stepfamilies is on the rise. Stepfamilies are more complex than first families and face conflicts and stress factors that are unique to stepfamilies.

The UW-Extension Offices of Buffalo and Pepin Counties have developed a program to address some of these issues and to provide stepfamilies with skills and strategies that will create stronger and healthier family relationships.
