The UW Where YOU Need It! Meet the needs of Northern Wisconsin Adult Students

Northern Wisconsin residents are asking for more ways to meet educational goals in their home communities. In response, the University of Wisconsin campuses at Superior and Green Bay have joined forces to provide a comprehensive resource - "The UW Where You Need It!" - for those seeking a Bachelor's Degree without leaving home, family or job.

"The UW Where You Need It!" initiative provides adult learners complete information about degree programs offered online and onsite in their communities. While featuring offerings from UW-Superior and UW-Green Bay, the partnership can also link students to the offerings of other University of Wisconsin and Technical College System partners throughout Northern Wisconsin. The website www.UWWhereYouNeedIt.com provides details on programs as well as access to on-line applications, advising, financial aid, credit transfer and career information.

"UW Superior and UW Green Bay Distance Learning programs share the common goal of bringing the university educaitonal experience to many of the same communities located primarily north of Highway 29. It just makes sense to combine efforts conveniently for our students and prospective students," stated Peter Nordgren, Associate Dean for Distance Learning and Continuing Education at UW-Superior. "Ultimately, our adult students tend to be extremely driven and highly focused on the types of career opportunities, advancement and job security to be gained by furthering their education."

A combined total of seven majors and programs are offered between UW-Green Bay and UW-Superior. Majors available online through UW Superior are the Bachelor of Science in Communicating Arts, Elementary Education, Individually Designed Major, or Sustainable Management. Through UW-Green Bay students can earn the Bachelor of Applied studies for Technical College Graduates, Bachelor of Arts with Area of Emphasis and Bachelor of Business Administration.
