The Richland County Extension Office has received calls in regard to a blackening on Maple leaves.
Preliminary results are indicating that the disease is called Anthracnose. It is a fungal disease that affects the leaves, and can cause significant leaf loss. Anthracnose however, will not cause damage to your trees if the tree is healthy.
