Food Insecurity
Hunger and food insecurity are real problems for Wisconsin families. Statewide, 1 out of every 12 households are food insecure -- they do not have access at all times to enough food for an active healthy life. At the most severe level, food insecurity includes hunger. Hunger affects over 60,000 households in Wisconsin. UW-Extension helps individuals to acquire enough food for themselves and their families; and helps communities ensure that all people at all times have physical and economic access to enough food to meet their dietary needs for a productive and healthy life.
