Partnering with Lac
Courte Oreilles Extension includes:
- Family Living initiatives in Sawyer County are covered by Trinke
McNurlin in the UW-Extension office and Trina
Starr in the LCO Extension office.
- WNEP of UW-Extension is also housed within LCO Extension. Mary Wolf and Barb Baker-LaRush work together to provide nutrition
education to the Lac Courte Oreilles community. Deb Wilber
of WNEP and Trina Starr, Family Living educator of LCO Extension
provide monthly workshops for the community on nutrition
and parenting topics. Watch for the monthly workshops in
your area- they will soon be bringing them to two new locations
on the LCO reserve.
- UW-Extension4-H educator Lori Laberee and
LCO Extension youth educator Starr
Quaderer are currently collaborating to pilot the LCO curriculum, "Living
by the Seasons" with local youth in selected classrooms.
This curriculum focuses on activities in each of the four seasons
that reflect traditional Ojibwa culture.
