does the WNEP (Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program) offer in
Trempealeau County?
WNEP is a federally funded program providing nutrition education
to low income families and individuals. The major focus of the
program includes:
- Choosing a healthful diet,
- Implementing cost saving shopping
strategies,
- Preparing low-cost snacks and meals, AND
- Using safe food
handling practices.
The nutrition educator collaborates with Senior Services, WIC
(Health Department), food pantries, and Western Dairyland Head
Start to provide on-site nutrition displays and interactive educational
activities. The family living agent coordinates the Buffalo/Pepin/Jackson/Trempealeau
counties project. Lorna Anderson, nutrition educator, conducts
the on-site education programs.
