Mission Statement - The mission of the Family Resource Coalition
of Vilas County is to support and encourage healthy families
in Vilas County.
Meetings - Meetings are held every 4th Thursday of Jan, Feb,
Mar, Apr, May, Sep, Oct. Nov, & Dec.
dates are specially arranged. The purpose of the meetings is to bring together
agencies, organizations, and volunteers that provide education for families.
What Does the Family Resource Coalition Do?
- Provide a forum
for family serving agencies to exchange resources and information.
- Offer training opportunities for professionals working with
children and families.
- Promote parent education and support
for all families.
- Facilitate grant funding requests form
community groups who support Vilas County families.
What is the Family Resource Coalition of Vilas County? - The
Family Resource Coalition of Vilas County is comprised of agencies,
organization, volunteers, schools, churches, and businesses
who share a common vision and concern for ALL families in Vilas
County. The Coalition believes that creating a supportive environment
for families who are healthy - emotionally, spiritually, mentally
and physically - is a shared responsibility of everyone in the
communities. Through a collaborative process, the Coalition shares
information, develops networks, and establishes and pursues common
goals to help build strong healthy families in Vilas County.
The Family Resource Coalition of Vilas County is an outcome
of the Vilas County Safe & Stable Families planning grant.
The goal is for all Vilas County families to have access to community
resources that support positive values, model, and parenting
skills.
Grant Funds Available - The Vilas Family Resource Coalition
annually seeks proposals for projects designed to meet the following
goals:
- Provide and/or promote parent education/support program opportunities
for all types of families.
- Contribute to a comprehensive system of parent education
services and programs throughout Vilas County.
- Increase public awareness of role of community in raising
next generation.
Methods may include, but not be limited to: home visitation,
play groups, parent education/support, family resource centers,
parent newsletters.
