Provides informal learn-as-you-wait lessons and information on healthy eating and access to quick and nutritious recipes guaranteed to please even the pickiest eater.
Bilingual Story Hour
Irwin Memorial Library, Whitewater, WI
July 10, 17, 24, and 31 from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m.
Food and fun in this fast paced story hour for 3-5 year olds and their caretakers. This story hour combines bilingual books that focus on healthy eating, songs and vocabulary in Spanish, a healthy snack, and an art project.

Community Gardens
If you are interested in growing your own vegetables and in saving money on food, then rent a plot at the UW-Extension garden plots. Plan ahead to next year. Brochure and more information

Community Garden Classes
The community Action Gardening Club will be meeting at the community gardens twice a week for 5 weeks. They will care for vegetable plants, have fun and try new fruits and vegetables.
Summer Nutrition:
WNEP staff are teaching youth nutrition classes through the summer at the Holiday Home Camp and at Turtlecreek Summer School Sessions.
Call for Volunteers:
The UW Extension Gardens are in need of a basic shelter to provide shade during the hot summer months. Please contact us if you or an organization you know of would be willing to help out.
