Phoenix Heights

Phoenix Heights neighbors have been busy building a stronger neighborhood by creating block clubs, hosting community events, bringing resources to the residents, and working with local organizations. Each year, UW-Extension connects with hundreds of residents through activities in the Phoenix Heights Neighborhood (located around Frame Park). Were you one of those residents? You can strengthen your neighborhood by becoming involved.

Upcoming Events:

Dec 4Family Wellness Coalition Meeting - Friday, Dec. 4 at 2:00 p.m.
The FWC is a collaboration of city officials, organizations and community members working together to keep neighborhoods safe from lead poisoning. The public is invited to attend this event, which will be held at the ARCh center at 419 Frederick Street in Waukesha. Call Steve at (262) 548-7781 for more information.

December 5Trim the Tree - Saturday, Dec. 5 at 12:00 p.m.
Come decorate the community holiday tree with your neighbors. This event will be at the Phoenix Heights Tot Lot Park, located on Phoenix Drive in Waukesha. For more information, contact Steve at (262) 548-7781.

December 18Spanish Block Club Meeting - Friday, Dec. 18
Spanish-speaking residents of Regent Street and The Strand are getting together for a neighborhood block club meeting to discuss community issues. For more information, contact Juana at (262) 970-4759.

Phoenix Heights Neighborhood Block Clubs

  • The goal of a Block Club is to improve the living conditions for all neighbors in the neighborhood. Other goals include: improving the physical environment, stopping crime, working with city officials, and increasing social interaction between neighbors. Phoenix Heights Steering Committee

  • This committee is made up of residents, community partners, elected officials, neighborhood businesses, and school personnel. We are looking for new faces and new ideas to help make Phoenix Heights of Waukesha even a better place to live! Come join us in planning events and activities in your neighborhood. Family Wellness Coalition (FWC)

  • This group is made up of elected city officials and organizations who are working to create awareness and keep the community safe from lead poisoning by helping neighbors develop a "Lead-Free Zone."

GROW  Program

  • A research project using containers for vegetable gardening. Receive free planters in the summer and be a part of growing your own vegetables without planting them in the ground!

LaTEENo Leadership 4-H Club

  • In the fall of 2007, the first Latino 4-H Club in the state was formed and located in Phoenix Heights. The Latino 4-H Club involves 35 youth and families who participated in neighborhood activities including community service and dramas showcasing heritage including 4-H Clover
    • Mexican Folkloric Dance
    • Day of the Dead
    • the Lady of Guadalupe
    • Youth Soccer

Drug Free Communities Coalition

  • The Waukesha County Drug Free Communities Coalition is an organization of individuals and organizations across the county whose goal is to reduce substance abuse in youth, including alcohol and tobacco, as well as illegal and legal drugs, over-the-counter and prescription. The coalition is interested in working with residents to help identify issues specific to each neighborhood and then network to find resources to help solve those issues.
