MISSION
Through collaboration,
cooperation, and information sharing, the WCNC works to prevent
hunger and food insecurity, provide information and education
on nutrition issues, and promotes social policies that achieve
food security while honoring the dignity of those we serve.
Five Year Impact Summary
Food Recovery: Since its development in 2002, a value of over $1,209,000 of food has been collected and distributed throughout Waukesha County.
Garden Gleaning: A total of 125,878 pounds of fresh produce was collected over the past 5 years. This produce has been donated to meal programs and food pantries within the communities where it was collected.
Understanding Issues of Poverty: a poverty simulation workshop- In the past five years, 353 community leaders, agency staff, educators, law enforcement, elected officials and other participants from the Waukesha Community have been trained to the realities faced by people who have limted income.
