The goals for the Rent Smart participants are that they:
--Better understand the benefits of developing a cooperative relationship with their landlords.
--More easily find adequate housing.
--Improve their ability to resolve problems with their neighbors and landlords.
--Move less often, thus increasing housing stability.

The lessons include information on learning to budget your money, finding a place to live, the rental application process, understanding rental agreements, home care, communication and moving on.  After successful completion of the program, some renters may get a break on their monthly rent from participating landlords!
