UW-Extension Cooperative Extension’s purpose to which we commit...we teach, learn, lead and serve, connecting people with the University of Wisconsin and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities.   Cooperative Extension is every Wisconsin community’s “doorway” to the University system.  The educator’s of our University are located in all 72 counties.  We invite you to become a part of our organization as an intern!

The University of Wisconsin Extension, Cooperative Extension Western District, is committed to providing exciting internship opportunities for college students. We provide the best opportunities to do scholarly work in education, offering real world experience to strengthen your professional credentials.

There are multiple locations where you can develop your skills while providing programs that serve important needs in the local community.  Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with a county-based Extension educator as a mentor while also serving as a member of the Extension team in the county office.   You will have the opportunity to form relationships with community members and leaders through your projects.

Cooperative Extension offers multiple types of internships covering all disciplines of education, including Family and Youth Development, Community Development, Agriculture, and Public Relations. You will work on an in-depth project that addresses a local need.  These projects will be adapted to meet your needs and interests. These can be full-time or part-time internships; paid or unpaid depending upon the county and project resources. Travel and expenses related to your internship programming will be reimbursed.

The University of Wisconsin - Extension, Cooperative Extension, realizes that large life decisions lie ahead in which career path you chose. We are confident that interning with our organization is the place to begin to get you off to the right start in your chosen career.
