Dairy Price Risk Management Work Group

The mission of the Dairy Price Risk Management Workgroup is to increase the capacity of agricultural producers and agribusiness to be aware of, evaluate and manage price risk in such a way as to meet their family and business goals.  This will be accomplished through partnerships that develop and implement research and educational programs that provide skills, knowledge, resources, and processes.

Curriculum Description

The Dairy Price Risk Management curriculum is designed to take the participant through the stages of price risk awareness, analysis, and management.  It includes evaluating historical prices, determining personal price targets via costs of production and other profit goals, assessing one’s own risk bearing tolerance, learning the tools of marketing and when and where to apply them, and developing a marketing plan.
