We all need rewards and incentives to help us change and keep us going strong! The bike and fitness challenge is set up so we can all help pedal the State 4-H Bicycle with the minutes of activity we report. For every 15 minutes of activity reported the bicycle will travel one mile. Watch the progress of our bicycle on the home page. Each individual can monitor their own progress, and the "miles" their county is adding to the state total, on the website as well. It should be fun to see how far we can make the bicycle go!
How do you report your "miles"? You will be recording your activity minutes on a daily log online and then printing and submitting a copy for rewards. Those who have no internet access will be able to record activities on a paper log and submit this for rewards. All rewards are claimed at your local UW Extension Office.
REGISTER, complete a challenge survey and make your pledge to work at being physically active. REWARD: Your personal "RetroFit Yourself!" wrist band.
COMPLETE 5 DAYS of activity in one week at the 60 minute per day level for youth or 30 minutes per day for adults. It is great if you are able to do more than these levels! REWARD: A classy colored foot token to add to your ongoing collection. We'll provide a keychain so you
can attach them to things and show them off!
Complete the activity level noted above for 6 consecutive weeks to earn an icy clear foot token AND get your name in an end of the year drawing (October 2005 and again in October 2006). Items will be announced as we are able to get sponsors for merchandise.
Participate in a bicycle day ride in your county (2005) or a regional ride (2006) to get your name in the drawing another time!
