National - Elder Issues

AARP Tax Aide Program
Useful if tax burden has changed after a change in status of a dependent. Local Retired and Senior  Volunteer Programs also provide free tax assistance to older adults or call the U.S. Internal Revenue Service at (800) 829-1040.

Food Stamps for the Elderly Resource Center
Provides information on how to better connect elderly people with the Food Stamp Program. It provides updated Fact Sheets and links to relevant websites.

Welfare Reform Academy
The Academy is an educational institution designed to help state and local officials, private social service providers, and other interested parties understand best practices in dealing with poverty and child welfare issues. The Welfare Reform Academy is a project of the University of Maryland School of Public Policy.
