CASES IN SECTORS

Here I have linked you directly to sections of a few movement sites that include case examples of community building. You can read about how strategies were actually used in real situations.

The Civic Practices Network maintains an extensive collection of case examples in their topics section. You will find examples in the areas of : Community, Health, Youth & Education, Work & Empowerment, Families, Gender/children, community Networking, Religion, Journalism, and Environment.

The Alliance for National Renewal maintains a Community Stories Index. Their collection includes stories in the areas of: Children, Youth and Families, Civic Journalism & Communications, Community Diversity, Community Economic Development, Creating Civic Infrastructure, Education, Environment, Individual Leadership, and Quality of Life.

For case examples in areas of Housing, Health Care, Education, Economic Development, and Community and Faith-based Organizations see Healthy Communities in Action. This is a section of Building Healthier Communities a national initiative the McAuley Institute and Mercy Housing Inc. which are affiliated with the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.

In the Garden of Cases maintained by the Community Stewardship Exchange you will find cases that focus on community-based strategies that preserve protected lands while also meeting the aspirations of adjoining landowners and communities.
