The CDC (Center for Disease Prevention and Control) offers these statistics about Wisconsin residents:
For 2004, the American Cancer Society estimated:
- 1,368,030 new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the United States, including 26,160 in Wisconsin.
- 563,700 cancer deaths will occur in the United States, including 10,780 in Wisconsin.
- 3,050 new cases of lung cancer will be diagnosed among men and women in Wisconsin.
- 2,820 men and women will die of lung cancer in Wisconsin.
- 2,900 new cases of colorectal cancer will be diagnosed among men and women in Wisconsin.
- 1,120 men and women will die of colorectal cancer in Wisconsin.
- 4,040 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in Wisconsin.
- 750 women will die of breast cancer in Wisconsin.
- 3,850 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed among men in Wisconsin.
- 500 men will die of prostate cancer in Wisconsin.
