HealthyStart

Healthy Start is one of several programs sponsored by the State of Wisconsin that provides health care coverage for children and pregnant women. Healthy Start can pay for doctor visits and hospital costs, prescription drugs, and costs associated with the delivery of a baby and up to 60 days of postpartum care.

Eligibility is based on a family’s gross income and does not consider any assets you may hold. You can go to the official Healthy Start web site to see if your income may fall within the eligibility guidelines. Please note, even if you are over the income limits or have other insurance you may still be eligible if you have child care or other medical expenses.

To apply, you can go to your local county/tribal social or human services department, W-2 agency, or Medicaid outstation site. And if you are able to access the Internet, you can apply through the State of Wisconsin ACCESS web site.
