Introduction

Welcome to Family Economics 101. This course is intended to provide a basic understanding of key areas of family money management. Each of the nine lessons includes audio presentations with accompanying visual material. There are also links to sources of additional information. Most lessons have assignments and other activities to aid your learning.

Some activities must be submitted to the instructor in order to receive a course completion certificate. An apple indicates that an assignment should be sent to the instructor.

Each assignment includes a form for you to submit. Please check to be sure that you have completed each field on a page before clicking the “submit” button. When you click the submit button, your answers will automatically be sent to the instructor via an email message. You may do the lessons in any order, but instructor support may not be available if you do the lessons out of order and all lessons must be completed to receive a completion certificate. Check the schedule to see when each of the lessons will have instructor support.

Each lesson has a checklist to guide you through it. If you are ready to begin, download and print the checklist for Lesson 1. Keep this list handy and check off each piece of the lesson as you complete it. A copy of this checklist should be mailed to the instructor after you complete the lesson.
