Part 3: Tenant Rights and Responsibilities

Landlord tenant problems are one of the top sources of consumer complaints. Wisconsin has a landlord tenant regulation that helps protect the rights of tenants and landlords. The questions that follow deal with issues that are common sources of misunderstanding for tenants.

Presenters: Kara Neher has been a Consumer Specialist with the Madison Regional Office of Consumer Protection since 1994. She provides information and training to consumers, businesses and government agencies on consumer regulations including the state landlord/tenant rules in the Madison area. She also mediates complaints and investigates for violations of laws enforced by Consumer Protection.
Louanne Lemon has been a Consumer Specialist since 1997. She works in the Consumer Information Center of the Office of Consumer Protection which handles complaints from across the state.
