Presenter: Roberta Riportella-Muller - Associate Professor in Consumer Science, School of Human Ecology, UW Madison and a health policy specialist, Family Living Programs for UW Extension. A sociologist by training, both her research and outreach interests focus on eliminating barriers to health care particularly for low income families. Roberta is currently the Project Director for Wisconsin's statewide Robert Wood Johnson funded project, Covering Kids and Families. The objectives of this project are to assure appropriate enrollment in the state s BadgerCare and Medicaid programs. She also has an interest in health care issues for older adults and is partnering with the federal Medicare agency in designing a curriculum to teach Medicare beneficiaries about changes in this program. Roberta teaches a health care policy course on UW Madison campus, Health Care Issues for Individuals, Families and Societies.
