An Educational Web Site Providing Follow-up to the National Satellite Video Conference, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Legal and Policy Issues
The national videoconference, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Legal and Policy Issues was broadcast on February 27, 2001 to 3,222 participants at 261 sites in 45 states. From the faxes and e-mails we have received since the program, we know that there is continuing interest.
As one response, this website will be maintained for a while as a place for grandparents raising grandchildren, professionals, legislators and policymakers, graduate students and videoconference planners to share information, find answers to questions, and learn about resources.
Broadcast Questions and Answers
Mary Brintnall-Peterson and Dena B. Targ were co-recipients of the 2001 AARP Grandparent Award presented by Generations United. The award is designed to honor outstanding contributions to the field of grandparents and other relatives raising kin. The leadership of Drs. Brintnall-Peterson and Targ for this videoconference was highlighted in the award presentation.
