A Partnership of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, Wisconsin Department of workforce Development (DWD), Office of Child Care, and the Wisconsin Child Care Resource & Referral Network

The Wisconsin Child Care Research Partnership (WCCRP) is one of nine federally-funded research partnerships in the United States. Beginning with funding in 2000 from the Child Care Bureau in the Department of Health and Human Services, the WCCRP continues to have a research and evaluation team housed at University of Wisconsin-Extension that conducts surveys, studies, and administrative data reviews related to early care and education. The three partners of WCCRP, each with a county and statewide presence are:

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (Child Care Section)
DWD's Child Care Section is the arm of state government responsible for all child care subsidies for low-income families and all quality child care initiatives funded by the federal Child Care and Development Fund or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families. Low-income families receiving subsidy live in all 72 Wisconsin counties.

Wisconsin Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Network
The Wisconsin CCR&R Network provides technical assistance and support to 17 local CCR&R agencies serving all 72 Wisconsin counties, and leadership to the state in developing "child care that works" for families and providers. The Network assures that all CCR&R agencies collect and disseminate data about local child care programs and providers in a standardized way, using the same software program.

University of Wisconsin-Extension
UW-Extension has its mission to bring education, resources, and knowledge to all corners of the state through such statewide programs as the Educational Communications Board (radio and television) and with Cooperative Extension family living educators in every one of the 72 Wisconsin counties.

Our mission:
The mission of WCCRP is to focus attention on the quality of early care and education in Wisconsin, particularly on services to low-income preschool children, through research and evaluation.
