Census Information for Hispanics/Latinos: All Wisconsin Counties (4

This link will provide an MS Excel document containing 2000 census
data on the Latino population for each county. County specific
data includes: age and gender totals, number of households, average
household size and residency, educational attainment by age and
school enrollment, employment categories and income levels, poverty
status, language and citizenship status.
This data will assist county faculty in the following ways: provide
civil rights review background data, get acquainted with the local
Latino population, assist businesses in understanding the economic
impact of Latinos, understand housing issues, and program opportunities.

This is a user friendly MS Word Spanish version of work done by
Rob Burke, CNRED in Door County, and Arlen Albrecht, CNRED in Taylor
County, inviting Latino residents to participate in household hazardous
waste clean sweeps.
The phrases highlighted in yellow are to be changed with your County's times,
dates and locations or contact persons. The red wording tells you what
needs to be put in. Just delete and put in your information. We
make no mention about other items that you might collect--Ag chemicals, appliances,
or computers. If you collect those items Arlen will help you get the

Ideas for distribution include: WIC programs where Latino mothers
participate, a Latino/Mexican food/supply store, places where Latinos
work, locations where Latinos are known to frequent, local church
or community centers as well as methods used to distribute or advertise
to English speaking clients.
