The mission of Diversity Circles

The mission of Manitowoc County Diversity Circles is to strengthen our community by engaging increasing numbers of diverse citizens in dialogue that focuses on racial issues…fostering understanding, awareness, cooperation and community involvement by, of and among all Manitowoc County citizens. This mission extends to include all members of the community in the dialogue – people diverse by race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, political affiliation and every other possible dimension of human identity.

The goals of Diversity Circles are:

1. To provide residents with a better understanding of different cultures represented in Manitowoc County.
2. To build a sense of community within Manitowoc County, across racial and ethnic lines, reducing current or future tensions.
3. To develop solutions to current or future tensions via a diverse community-wide network of people.
4. To benefit and enrich our community via innovative communication and newly formed relationships.
