After spending seven years in private industry, I joined the University of Illinois Extension in 1996 as a Unit Educator, Agriculture and Natural Resources Management. My area of expertise is working with community watershed groups in the area of decision-making processes.

Omar M. Headen serves the University of Illinois Extension in Chicago as a Youth Development Educator. His primary responsibilities include working in collaboration with schools and community organizations to develop, implement and assess educational programs. He has experience teaching at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels of education. Currently, he is developing a journalism program for urban youth. His aim is to help provide urban youth with an open forum to discuss various issues of concern-- through resources offered through the University of Illinois Extension.

Michelle has been employed by the University of Illinois Extension for 19 years. Her responsibilities as Unit Leader include the coordination of the program areas of Community and Economic Development and Consumer and Family Sciences, providing leadership to unit staff and volunteers, and securing resources. She received her Masters in Extension from U of I. Michelle lives with her husband Jim in Champaign. They have four married daughters with ten grandchildren.
