After working
for seven years as an extension ag and 4-H agent in Nebraska (1980-1987),
I went to graduate school at Iowa Sate University. While at graduate
school in Ames (1987-1992), I worked as an extension program assistant
in the areas of grain and livestock marketing. After two years (1993-94)
as an extension farm management specialist in west central Iowa,
I moved to my present position as area extension agricultural economist
in northwest Kansas (1995-2002). In my current position, I am responsible
for organization and delivery of extension agricultural economics
educational programs and applied research, targeted toward Kansas
farmers and agribusiness. My motivation for participation in NELD
is to improve and enhance my extension program leadership and managerial
abilities to enable me to function in a more effective and professional
manner as a team player in K-State Research and Extension.
