As a Family Living Educator, I focus on professional development for family-serving professionals and volunteers, and improved utilization of community resources in Racine County. Recently I became co-chair of the Strengthening Individuals, Families and Communities statewide program team. My M.S. is from UW-Madison in Continuing and Vocational Education. Before joining UW-Extension in 1990, I worked as a customer service manager for an east coast airline. My husband, Ed, and I have three daughters, ages 7, 13, and 16.

From internships with the Wisconsin State Senate, to corporate travel and now, for the last ten years, UW-Extension 4-H Youth Development work, I have experience in communicating, advising and counseling people. Presently as the Pierce County 4-H Youth Development Agent I facilitate and design programming involving adults, youth and families in educational experiences that develop and enhance the acquisition of basic life skills and developmental assets. Pierce County 4-H has 24 community clubs, 900 members and 350 volunteers. I have specific interests in arts and communications programming, citizenship development, global education and the animal sciences. Partnerships with Collegiate 4-H and the Agricultural Education Department at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls have been part of an on-going effort to work with young adults looking to transition into Extension work. I hold a BS in Broad Area Social Studies (History) and an MS in Agricultural Education and enjoy choral singing, travel and hiking Civil War battlefields.

I have served as a Community Resource Development Agent over the last eight years in two Wisconsin counties. My educational programming is focused on community and organizational development issues as well as community planning. As a result of recent state-level legislation that mandates comprehensive community planning, my work has focused on developing opportunities for meaningful citizen participation throughout the planning process. My wife, Colleen, and I have two children Grant and Anna, ages seven and five, respectively.
