I have been at the Iowa state 4-H office 4 1/2 years following
2 years of teaching. I work with the state 4-H council and
Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, plan our recognition programs and
advise the Collegiate 4-H Club. I have a B.A. from the University
of Northern Iowa in Social Studies Secondary Ed. and an M.Ed.
from Iowa State University in Educational Counseling.

Steven
L. Devlin is an Industrial Specialist with the Center for
Industrial
Research and Service at Iowa State University.
He is currently serving as the project manager for Iowa State’s
cooperative agreement with the USDA – Office of Energy
Policy and New Uses to develop and implement systems supporting
Section 9002 of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act
of 2002. Working with government officials, university faculty,
staff and students, and private contractors to develop testing
resources for biobased products, management procedures, and
infrastructure for long-term program operation. Mr. Devlin
received a Bachelors Degree of Industrial Science from Truman
State University in 1993 and a Master of Science Degree in
Industrial Education & Technology from Iowa State University
in 2003. He has worked as an Engineering Analyst and Product
Designer with John Deere Sprayer Production and as Office Manager
of a small contract design firm.

The
Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) provides
education and technical assistance to Iowa industry in the
areas of engineering, management practices, procurement,
productivity, and quality management. CIRAS is a partner
in the Iowa Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
During
his tenure with CIRAS he has worked on several special projects
including the NIST MEP Y2K National Train the Trainer effort
and 3 eBusiness for Small Business Conferences. Paul's main
area of interest is assisting companies in leveraging the power
if the Internet and IT. Paul's title at CIRAS is Industrial
Specialist, but eBusiness Consultant might best describe his
position and interests. Presently Paul is filling an additional
role as Service Provider Representative in the Iowa Manufacturing
Extension Partnership where he assists in assessing companies'
industrial needs and matching them with the resources available
from CIRAS.

Joined ISU Extension in 1995 with over 22 years of industry
experience including Vice President, Iowa Metal Spinners; Production
Manager, Sargent Metal Fabricating; General Manager, Ideal
Industries; Operations Manager, Cedar Metal Works. Currently
a member of the CIRAS Productivity Improvement team specializing
in manufacturing computer simulation for process development/improvement
and plant layout and management of the ISU Industry Outreach
Center in Cedar Falls. Education includes B.A., Industrial
Technology, 1980; M.A., Industrial Supervision and Management,
1998, University of Northern Iowa.

After 5 years as a high school industrial education teacher
and coach, and 11 years in various marketing positions for
John Deere Industrial Equipment division, I've been a field
specialist for extension to business and industry for 13 years.
I specialize in productivity improvement projects. I am team
lead for our Industry Advisory Council and lead a team working
on a significant grant project. My wife, Jane, teaches elementary
school and we have 2 sons: Barry, 26, living in Chicago and
Kyle, 19, living at home.
