Currently I am sharing state program leader responsibilites on an interim basis for the Family & Consumer Sciences unit. In addition, I provide leadership for Michigan’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Family Nutrition Program (FNP), am engaged in several research projects, and have an adjunct appointment in the MSU Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. I am active with the Society for Nutrition Education and currently serve as chair of the Food and Nutrition Extension Educator's division of this organization. I'm married, have two children in college, and enjoy downhill skiing, reading and playing bridge.

I have four years of experience in Extension at MSU and for three of those years I served as a County Extension Agent providing leadership for the Food Stamp Nutrition Education(FNP) and Breastfeeding Peer Support Programs in Wayne County. During the past year I served as an Interim County Extension Director in Wayne County, one of the largest counties in the state, and assumed the responsibility of Regional Coordinator for FNP in the ten county Southeast Region. My background is in nutrition and prior to coming aboard at MSU Extension I worked for the WIC program for 10 years. Whenever I can, the one thing I enjoy the most, other than attending my son's football games is reading a very good novel.
