Lynda Johnson joined University Extension in 1980 as a Nutrition Specialist,and assumed the role of County Program Director in 1987. Lynda received her BSE in Vocational Home Economics, and her MS in Human Nutrition from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Lynda is a Registered Dietitian. Her work responsibilities involve health promotion program efforts; supervision for the local FNEP program; and leadership development in the community. Her special interests include walking, music, and volunteering for her church. Lynda and her husband, Jeffrey, live in Lexington, and have a son, John (18).

Both my Father and Father-in-law retired from Extension. After graduating I spent time in industry and I am now extremely happy to be in Extension where my sole responsibility is to help people. My background is agriculture and I am still a cow-calf producer in Southwest Missouri. My educational programming focuses on livestock production, forage management, farm financial planning, marketing, and risk management. On a personal note, last week I was married to the most wonderful woman in the world. I look forward to meeting everyone in the group.
