I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science
with minors in English and Secondary Education from Western Illinois
University. I received my Master's in Public Policy Analysis from
the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During my career, I have been
an educator in the United States and abroad (Peace Corps Niger, 1978-1981),
involved with fundraising and grant writing, administered nonprofit
organizations, managed educational and research programs within university
centers and have worked in various levels of government, as staff,
lobbyist and elected official. My current responsibilities with University
of Illinois Extension focus on small business development and support,
community leadership, community capacity building, and entrepreneurship.
I am single, reside in the Village of Camp Point (pop: 1300) with
cats: 3 indoor and 4-5 outdoor. I moved back to western Illinois
after 21 years in Wisconsin (Madison and Milwaukee) to get closer
to family.

Jim provides leadership in the development and delivery of educational programs on topics such as farm financial analysis, farmland leasing, market outlook, estate planning and dairy management. He has been employed by UI Extension for more than 18 years and also has previous experience in agricultural lending and community bank management along with having served as a high school agriculture instructor. His education background includes a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Illinois. Jim is married and has four children ranging in age from 14 to 26.

I
have been with University of Illinois Extension for over 16 years
with the first 10 years as an Extension Specialist in the Pesticide
Safety Education Program. Since 1998, I have served in the Fulton
County Unit, first as Unit Educator in Horticulture and currently
as Unit Leader. As Unit Leader I oversee county educational programming
and lead the office fiscal and staff operations. I have a BS in
Ornamental Horticulture and a MS in Horticulture from the University
of Illinois. My husband, Mark, and I have 2 boys, ages 10 & 13. |

Bruce McVety was raised on a farm in Michigan, where he was active in 4-H and FFA. He holds a BA in psychology/sociology, a MA in Community Education Admin. and post-graduate work (ABD) in Cultural/Intellectual History from Illinois State University. He has 15 years experience in Law Enforcement. In 1999 he was recognized as the Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Illinois Attorney General. For the past 21 years he and his wife have lived in Bureau County Illinois. |
