Dr. LuAnn Hiniker is the Campus Regional Director at the Extension Regional Center, at the University of Minnesota Rochester. Previously she served Extension as the District Director for the southeast district providing administrative and programmatic leadership for the 15 counties in southeast Minnesota.

LuAnn holds a Ph.D. in workforce education and development from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC). She also received an M.S. degree in educational administration: higher education leadership and a B.S. in Spanish and humanities. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, LuAnn was an instructor and research assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Services at SIUC. She was previously a research administrator and past director of the Information Sciences Institute at Minnesota State University Mankato. LuAnn is a previous 4-H member and enjoys her pets and horticulture.

I have been with the University of Minnesota Extension for 25 years. The majority of the work I have done has been in family relations and supporting community youth development. Currently I am the regional director for six counties in Minnesota.I enjoy spending time with my husband Gary and our two busy teenagers, Eric and Katie.

I am new to the University of Minnesota Extension Service, having begun in September 2004 as Regional Director at the Extension Regional Center located in St. Cloud. I earned my bachelor's degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and my master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I have worked for the last six years in college admissions in Missouri and am busy re-acclimating to life in my home state of Minnesota. I'm looking forward to the challenges and opportunities offered through Extension!
