After graduating I worked on a NASA educational contract before moving home and joining MU Extension in 1995 as a 4-H Youth Specialist. Always being one to look for new challenges, in 2001 I assumed the role of Community Development Specialist in Dent County. In this role I focus on youth and adult leadership development, emergency management, natural resources and organizational development. I received my Ph.D. and M.S. from Oklahoma State University and a B.S. from Southwest Missouri State University. My wonderful wife Cathy also works for MU Extension and I have 3 daughters...Caylene, Shannon and Bridgette. I am an outdoor nut and love doing anything new that challenges me.

The major programming efforts that I have provided leadership for are county and regional leadership development programs, environmental education for children and adults, community emergency management team, and not-for-profit management. New programming areas that I will be involved with are immigrant issues and diversity, and AgrAbility. In addition to local educational responsibilities, I serve on the MO Soil & Water Conservation Society Board, Midland Empire Resources for Independent Living Board, Leadership Northwest MO Board, and Healthy Communities Summit Planning Committee. I enjoy interacting and living in a small rural community with my husband and son, 2 cats and a laborador pup.
