I started in Purdue Extension in 1981 as an Extension Home Economist in Marion County, Indiana (Indianapolis), specializing in family resource management. In 1992, I transfered to the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing at Purdue as a family resource management specialist. In 2004, I assumed my current responsibilities as the Extension Plan of Work and Accountability Coordinator. I am responsible for the Extension reporting system, coordinating the plan of work, and coordinating our CED Assessment Center. My husband,two children, and I live on a small farm.

In my career with Purdue Extension, I have had the opportunity to serve as a county Extension CFS Educator, a County CED, an intern with USDA, an Extension specialist in Residential Environment, and presently as the Extension IRB and Reporting Coordinator. In my present position I manage the Extension Educators human subjects requests, and make sure that all the IRB requirments are being met. I also prepare the federal reports that Purdue Extension sends to USDA-CSREES. An additional responsbility is to meet with each county staff to discuss thir progress with important management issues. My husband, John, is an engineer, and we have one son, Adam, who lives and works in Texas.

Tony Carrell is the 4-H Youth Extension Educator in Boone County. He is responsible for managing the county 4-H program and helps address youth development issues in the county through his involvement and collaboration with schools and other youth serving agencies. Tony is also an active member of IEEA and NAE4-HA. In his spare time Tony is a volunteer firefighter and enjoys classic John Deere tractors.

I am currently the CED (County Extension Director) and Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development, in Newton County. I began in Extension as a part time Program Assistant, then worked on various campus Extension projects while completing my MS degree. During this time, I had the pleasure of writing the "Exploring the Food Pyramid with Professor Popcorn." I worked 8 months as the Consumer & Family Science Educator in Benton & White Counties before transferring to Newton County in 1995. My husband John and I have 2 adult daughters and a 2-year-old granddaughter.
