Area Animal Science Days Schedule Announced
Madison - Melanie Miller, University of Wisconsin-Extension 4-H youth development specialist, has announced the schedule for Area Animal Science Days, coming up in June.
About 1,400 youth from 55 counties are expected to participate in animal projects, activities and events in the coming year and are invited to attend one of the animal science day events.
This year, animal science days will be June 23 in Columbia County, June 24 in Clark County, June 25 in Shawano County and July 1 in Jefferson County.
Events include evaluation of dairy cattle, horses and meat animals, dairy showmanship contests, hippology (the study of horses), Quin Kolb scholarship interviews and oral reasons workshops.
In addition, each site will offer a variety of workshops for small animal projects. These may include rabbits, poultry, dogs, cats or llamas.
