Young artists, performers, photographers and musicians are invited to apply for a variety of arts programs and state art team opportunities, according to the new 4H arts and communication specialist Tim Talen.
Adults and teens who want to lead arts activities in their 4-H clubs and other organizations will gather at Upham Woods in Wisconsin Dells, Dec. 6 - 8 for the 4-H Arts Leadership Lab.
Youth in grades 6 through 8 who attend the 2002 Arts Camp, Oct. 19 - 20 at Upham Woods, near Wisconsin Dells, will have opportunities to be creative with a variety of art forms - communications, drama, music, photography, storytelling and visual arts.
Members of 4-H who love to sing, make art, act, write and create with computers have until Feb. 15 to send in applications to be part of a 4-H arts team. Teams are forming for arts, drama, press, Showcase Singers and technology. These teams will attend the Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference in June and will work together throughout the year on a variety of activities, events and projects.
This summer many youth are enjoying cartooning and creative art thanks to a cooperative venture between community agencies and University departments.
Young people can create their own puppets, learn how to express themselves through movement and design their own costumes and stage sets using a new national 4-H theatre arts curriculum created by University of Wisconsin-Extension.
