Conflict Workshop C: Diagnosing Conflicts for Effective Extension Roles

Description

This 2 day workshop brought to you by the UW-Extension Conflict Education Team:  Effective Everyday Engagement, focuses on analyzing conflicts, identifying interested parties, examining their relationships and selecting among varied roles Extension can play to help parties manage or resolve the conflict.  Principles can be applied to conflicts ranging from simpler two-party to complex multi-party conflicts.  You will learn:

  • How to analyze a conflict situation.
  • How to perform diagnostic and coaching interviews.
  • How to select appropriate Extension roles (e.g. diagnosis, information/instruction, process design, facilitation, etc.) for varied conflicts
  • How to apply conflict analysis to your own programming

Audience

Extension faculty and staff wishing to increase their conflict management skills

Costs

The program costs for the in-service (Materials, instructional facilities-room and equipment, meals, breaks) are covered by Program Development and Evaluation. All participants are asked to cover their own travel, lodging and any meals related to travel. There is no registration fee for this in-service.

Registration process

Advance registration is required for all professional workshops and courses presented by Program Development and Evaluation. Be sure to meet the registration deadlines noted in each course listing. There is no charge for these workshops for UW-Extension faculty and staff. Other attendees should contact pderegistration@uwex.edu for specific information.
