Are you trying to evaluate outcomes and show the value of your work? Are you looking for new strategies and techniques for evaluating program outcomes? Do you want to expand your scholarly activity through better evaluation? This workshop provides the opportunity for participants to learn and practice as they improve their evaluation skills.
Participants will:
- Increase their knowledge and skills in developing
a focused, useful outcome evaluation
- Be better equipped to know what to evaluate, what
is useful and meaningful to know and the appropriate
evaluation design to use
- Increase their knowledge in particular aspects of
evaluation: data collection methods, quantitative and
qualitative data analysis; communicating results
- Gain confidence in their ability to conduct a quality
evaluation
- Increase their awareness of evaluation resources
that are available, in particular, the Building Capacity
in Evaluating Outcomes curriculum.
This highly interactive
17 hour workshop covers the core competencies of evaluation for
Extension professionals with applications for different
skill levels and interests. Case studies and practical,
fun activities help make evaluation doable and relevant.
Participants learn and practice as they cover the core
aspects of developing and conducting a quality evaluation
with a particular emphasis on measuring outcomes. You
will receive an array of resources to build your evaluation
toolbox.
The teaching team includes Nancy Brooks, Matt Calvert, Karen Dickrell, Chris Kniep, Heidi Dusek, Maria Habib, Mary Woods, and Ellen Taylor-Powell.
It is expected that people who register for this workshop
are familiar with and use the logic model. Otherwise,
you can fully complete the online logic model course at http://www.uwex.edu/ces/lmcourse.
Participants
will get the most out of this workshop if they have an evaluation
in mind, are in the planning phase of an evaluation project,
or have a specific application for using their evaluation
knowledge. Please bring your Plan of Work, a
program logic model, or evaluation project to the workshop. Work
time will be allocated during the workshop to work on specific evaluation plans
or projects. |

Costs
|
The program costs for the in-service (Materials, instructional facilities-room and equipment, meals, breaks) are covered by Program Development and Evaluation. All participants are asked to cover their own travel, lodging and any meals related to travel. There is no registration fee for this in-service.
