The UW-Extension
Cooperative Extension
Quad Counties is a major outreach effort
of the University of Wisconsin, putting university
knowledge and research to work in urban settings throughout Kenosha,
Milwaukee, Racine, and Waukesha counties. Located
in the southeast corner of Wisconsin, the Quad is home
to over 2 million people, approximately 30% of the state’s
population. In partnerships with local residents and organizations, as
well as the University of Wisconsin, the Quad Counties develops
innovative educational programs to:
- improve the lives of youth and families
- strengthen neighborhoods
- build local leadership
- encourage sustainable and profitable agricultural and horticultural
business
- promote environmental stewardship
A total of 92 Cooperative Extension staff serves the Quad
Counties from the four County offices, in addition to a field
office in Milwaukee County's Wehr Nature Center and
the Racine/Kenosha Nutrition Education Office. Across
the Quad, Extension educators work together, sharing resources
in order to develop and deliver programs that respond to issues
identified by our communities. Learn more
