Pest Management Training - Minnesota

Description
This training satisfies new certification requirements for
USDA Technical Service Providers (TSPs) and expands on last year's
TSP pest management training. New NRCS in Minnesota Pest Management
Planning guidance will be reviewed with emphasis on using mitigation
tables and the NRCS Windows Pesticide Screening Tool (WIN-PST)
to select low environmental risk pest management alternatives.
Pesticide label restrictions and Minnesota pesticide BMPs will
also be discussed. In addition, pest management activities required
of producers to receive USDA-NRCS pest management payments will
also be reviewed.
Who Should Attend?
Individuals that provide pest management advice
to agricultural producers will benefit from this training. Required
for Ag professionals who are seeking to become certified as a
TSP or current TSP certified individuals that will need to have
their certification renewed and non-NRCS public sector employees
seeking Technical Approval Authority (TAA) who do not attend
pest management module 7 training designed for NRCS employees.
Pre-requisites
Completion of modules 1-6 (self-paced study) materials
and test of the NRCS
Pest Management Considerations in Conservation Planning course
is required for individuals requesting TSP certification for
pest management. Successful completion of modules 1-6 is waived
by NRCS in Minnesota for CCAs, CPAgs and CPCCs. Public sector
employees can satisfy module 1-6 requirements by completing the
NRCS materials and test.
