Task 5 - Choosing plants for Northern Wisconsin
Exposed, Sandy Beach Sites Plant List

Exposed, sandy beach shorelines generally host sparse vegetation, except along the fringe of the upper edge. Water levels have dropped, exposing a relatively bare beach. No trees are included in this list because trees are generally set back, behind the draw-down zone. ‘*’ indicates species found only along the upland edge of the shoreline.

Some of the plants in this list are linked to the Wisconsin State Herbarium website where you can get detailed information on these  plants.  Just click on the plant name to be taken to the herbarium site.
