What’s New?
The Council for Strategic Change was established in September, 2009
and is responsible for engaging colleagues in a culture of change through
the implementation of the strategic plan and the coordination of Cooperative Extension’s various improvement efforts. Find out more by reading agendas, minutes, and other materials.
Over the past several months, hundreds of you, individually and through the groups that you are involved with, have provided input into the creation of our newly implemented Purpose, Vision and Values.
Clarity around our Purpose, Vision and Values will:
• Prepare us for the challenges of the 21st Century
• Navigate our organization into the future
• Direct our work to the things that matter most to us
We invite you to explore these principles and consider how they can create a greater sense of meaning for the work you do.
Share your personal story about how you connect with the values of Cooperative Extension.
By doing so, you will be eligible for professional development funds!
The Council for Strategic Change will continue to share updates about the implementation
of Strategic Plan recommendations and related efforts. This month we’ll take a closer look at “Building Awareness about our Community-based Research, Education, and Outreach Scholarship Niche.”
On November 18, 2009, the Central and Eastern Districts teamed together for a combined All-Staff meeting that focused on “Building Awareness about our Community-based Research, Education, and Outreach Scholarship Niche.” Over 160 colleagues participated in break-out sessions and discussion around the topic of scholarship. See their agenda here. In addition, Cooperative Extension’s Council on Academic Staff Issues (CASI) recently published a white paper, Scholarship in UW-Extension – Cooperative Extension: The Role of Academic Staff as a response and first step in the discussion related to this Strategic Direction. The paper was shared as a resource for the combined district meeting.
What examples for this Strategic Direction would you add? You’ll have opportunities to add to this list as we move forward.
Pardon our Dust!
The Council for Strategic Change will be launching a new website and many other communication pieces as part of its comprehensive plan for engaging all staff in the implementation of organizational improvement efforts. In the meantime, we’ve given the Strategic Planning website a temporary facelift. You’ll find that many of the sidebar links will take you to the strategic planning archives. Bare with us, we’ll be launching a full version of the new site soon!
