Windows XP Service Pack 2 Pop-Up Blocking and the Planning and Results System
Microsoft recently released Windows XP Service Pack 2, a set of upgrades and security patches for the Windows XP operating system and other applications like Internet Explorer. One of the features added to Internet Explorer with this service pack is pop-up blocking. This prevents advertisements and other types of web site windows from automatically opening.
The feature can also interfere with using the Planning and Results System (PRS). After you enter your NetID and password, the PRS will attempt to open in a new window, or pop-up window. Internet Explorer will block the PRS system from opening this window and all you will see is the window asking you to close all browser windows.
Please follow the steps below to add the UWEX server to the list of sites that Internet Explorer will allow to open pop-up windows.
In Internet Explorer, get to the Pop-up Blocker Settings, by clicking on the Tools menu and then Pop-up Blocker.

In the box for the “Address of Web site to allow:”, type in: http://uwex.edu and click the Add button.

The “Allowed sites:” will now list *.uwex.edu.

The *. will allow any site that ends in uwex.edu to open a pop-up windows.
Click on the Close button.
This will allow PRS and any other UWEX web site to open a pop-up window. If there are other web sites you wish to allow to open pop-up windows, add them to the Allow sites: in this same manner.
Print Friendly. This site is automatically print friendly without needing extra links. Just print and it will only output the content of the page without the extra navigation and backgrounds.
