June 22-23, 2010, Hyatt Regency, Milwaukee, WI

Keynote Presentations:

Limits, What If, and Possibilities
Mark O'Connell, Wisconsin Counties Association

Mark O'ConnellOur university system, through extension, is the access point for higher education for Wisconsin’s citizens. Asking ourselves “what if?” as we innovate and adapt to a rapidly changing society and exploring the possibilities of what could be is the essence of futuring and extension is positioned to guide this journey.

Mark O’Connell is the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Counties Association, an organization representing counties at the state and federal level with respect to all issues affecting county government.

Mr. O’Connell has served county government for the past twenty-one years. He has a Bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and a Masters degree from the University of Wisconsin.

In addition to many state boards and commissions on which he sits, he is a principal in the Wisconsin Way effort, an officer of the Wisconsin Higher Education Business Roundtable, and President of WCA Services, Inc.

In addition, Mr. O’Connell is currently President of the National Council of County Association Executives.
