- Chippewa/Eau Claire
Thursday, June 3, `04 Poverty Stricken Simulation shows problems of needy A Leader Telegram reporter tells about his experience being poverty stricken during a simulation experience sponsored by the Eau Claire County Hunger Prevention Council.
- Douglas
Douglas County has formed a Twin Ports Healthy Lifesyle Coalition as a result of an Obesity Conference. The coalition will be coordinating community events to encourage physical activity and healthy eating. For more information-Grace Gee 715-395-1546
- Florence/Forest/Vilas
A Hunger Awareness Breakfast was held in Eagle River on National Hunger Awareness Day, June 3rd co-sponsored by Second Harvest. Over 120 people attended and over $3854. raised for food for hungry families in the northwoods. Senator Breske attended.
- Iowa
The Iowa County WNEP staff worked with the Iowa County Hunger Task Force sponsoring a food drive on Hunger Awareness Day, June 3, 2004. We collected a 55 gallon drum of food this first year at the Balloon Fest held at Bloomfield Manor.
