Resource Management Fact Sheets for Limited-Income Audiences

DOLLAR SENSE is a collection of single concept resource management fact sheets. The goal of the series is to make basic resource management information available in a simple, concrete way for individuals with a limited desire or ability to read.

Resource management education is an important part of food and nutrition programming for limited-income persons and families. Families who are able to manage their resources will be better able to afford adequate nutritious food.

Teaching about resource management to improve family food security is part of the Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program (WNEP) for persons and families in the Food Stamp Program. The content areas and handouts that are marked with asterisks (**) in the lists below, are appropriate for use in WNEP programming.

The learners will discover ways to:

  • plan for family spending**
  • manage credit and debt
  • get more for the money they have**
  • increase family resources**
  • teach their children about money
  • manage non-dollar resources

The fact sheets are available on-line in Adobe Acrobat© Portable Document Format (PDF*).

The entire Dollar Sense Series is available in one PDF file (1,603 K).
