Foods and Nutrition Fact Sheets for Limited-Income Audiences

The University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension has developed a series of fact sheets for low literate audiences with limited nutrition backgrounds. Each easy-to-read illustrated fact sheet gives reliable, practical information on a single food or nutrition concept. Healthful, low cost recipes are included in most fact sheets to reinforce the concept emphasized.

This set of fact sheets provides information about making healthy food choices, helping parents to get their children to eat well, stretching the food dollar and safe food handling. Some of the fact sheets are available in both English and Spanish versions. All of the fact sheets are formatted as single-fold one page handouts, some have a half page insert for the recipes.

The fact sheets are available on-line in Adobe Acrobat© Portable Document Format (PDF)*.

Fact sheets have a space at the top of the front section for entering program information. Two versions are available: one has the top section blank and one has a WNEP Header that can be customized with the County Project Name and contact information. The files with the WNEP Header are significantly larger.
